Kastina State governor orders the detain of student for criticising on facebook

According to premium times, a student of the National Open University of Nigeria, Abdulmalik Sa’idu, has been languishing in a police cell for over 20 days on the orders of the Governor of Katsina State, Ibrahim Shema, for posting details of an alleged fertilizer scam in the state on his Facebook wall.
This was disclosed by Mr. Sa’idu’s family and lawyer to premium times
They said Abdulmalik was first invited to the Katsina Government House on August 28 by a phone caller who claimed he had a message for him. But when Abdulmalik arrived at the governor’s office, he was promptly arrested, handcuffed and taken to Batagarawa Police Station just outside the state capital, Katsina, and detained on the orders of Mr. Shema’s aide-de-camp, Shehu Koko, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP.
According to his father, Maiyawo Sa’idu, while the young student was not charged with any offence, he was accused of cloning the governor’s phone number and using same to call the state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affair, Sani Makana, with instructions that Mr. Makana deposit N3 million in his account. Mr. Sa’idu said his son was innocent. He said if indeed Abdulmalik cloned the governor’s number to dupe a commissioner he wouldn’t be tricked to come to the Government House to be arrested. “I think they are trying to frame him. I know my son cannot clone the governor’s number and call a commissioner to put three million into his account,” Mr. Saidu told PREMIUM TIMES.
Akin Ajayi, a Kaduna based lawyer, who is helping the family on the case, said the DPO of Batagarawa Police Station told him he had order from above not to release Abdulmalik on bail.
The lawyer added that the governor was breaking the law by holding the boy captive beyond 48 hours on frivolous claims

The International Football Federation said in a statement that it was cooperating with the world health organization to transform the antoinette tubman stadium in liberia capital for use in the fight against the worst deadly outbreak of the Ebola virus.
The stadium which FIFA had donated to Liberia's football association would serve as the site for two urgently needed large-scale Ebola treatment units.

oscar pistorious found guilty of culpable murder
A judge has found Oscar Pistorius guilty of culpable homicide, the South
African term for unintentionally but unlawfully killing a person.
The verdict comes a day after Judge Thokozile Masipa cleared Pistorius of murder in the killing of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.
The maximum prison sentence for culpable homicide is 15 years.
The verdict also dealt with three other charges, all weapons-related.
He was found not guilty of two — a car sunroof shooting incident and illegal possession of ammunition at his house.
The judge found Pistorius guilty of the third: a charge involving a shooting at a restaurant.
In a shooting from a car’s sunroof, Judge Thokozile Masipa said the state failed to prove its case beyond a reasonable doubt. She said she didn’t find the state’s witnesses persuasive, saying the the pair’s version of events differed too much.
In another shooting at a restaurant, she said the state had proven its case. Pistorius, she said, was trained in the use of guns and should not have asked for the gun at the restaurant, let alone handle it.
In the third, Pistorius was found not guilty of an ammunition charge. Masipa saids the state failed to introduce evidence that proved he intended to possess the ammunition
Masipa, who has presided impassively for months over the high-profile trial, finally let the world know what she has been thinking on the first day of reading her verdict .
Pistorius did not intend to kill Steenkamp, Masipa said, accepting his defense that he thought someone had broken into his house and that he believed he was defending himself.
Pistorius, 27, has always admitted firing the bullets that killed his girlfriend Steenkamp, then a 29-year-old cover model about to turn reality TV star. He pleaded not guilty to murdering her in his home on Valentine’s Day last year, claiming that the killing was a tragic mistake.
But in grabbing his gun and heading toward the supposed threat, Pistorius “acted too hastily and used excessive force,” Masipa ruled
the final hearing has therefore been scheduled for the 18th of October
