12 out of 18 soldiers who attacked their GOC in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital, have been sentenced to death by an Abuja court.
The 18 soldiers were charged for mutiny(Revolt action) and other offences
Five of them were acquitted and discharged while the. remaining one was sentenced to 28 days in prison with hard labour.
The soldiers had on 14th may fired shots on Maj Gen. Mohammed Ahmed, the General officer commanding the newly created Division 7 in maiduguri.
He however escaped unhurt
